The security of supply of electricity networks is at a very good level. However, there is always a risk of power outages, which everyone should be aware of. The electricity network company Seiverkot, which is responsible for the electricity networks around the city centre of Seinäjoki, is prepared for potential power outages and ready to react to them.

We communicate about disruptions in the electricity network around the city centre of Seinäjoki on the Seiverkot disruption map, about power outages lasting more than five minutes by means of a disruption text message and, if necessary, by means of disruption notifications on the website. In addition, the Seiverkot on-call number serves you 24/7. You can also fill in an electronic non-urgent Seiverkot fault report form, which we process on weekdays.

Please check these before contacting us

All faults in the medium-voltage network can be seen in the Seiverkot system, which is why most households without electricity are known to us without separate notification from customers.

Therefore, please check the following before contacting us:

• Check whether information about the outage is shown on the Seiverkot disruption map. Power outages in the Seiverkot networks are indicated on the Seiverkot power outage map and, if necessary, in the fault notifications on the Seiverkot website.
  • If we know the customer’s telephone number, we will inform the properties in the area of planned work interruptions in the electricity network in advance by text message. In the event of power outages lasting more than five minutes, we will also send a text message to the residents of the area in question. More information on the Seiverkot disruption message service is available on the Seiverkot website (in Finnish).
• If the power outage map does not contain any information about a power outage, please also check the main and branch circuit fuses of the apartment or property.
• If you have found where the fault is, such as a tree fallen over the power line, please report it to our fault number without delay.

What to do in a neutral-fault situation?

A neutral fault is a rare fault state in which the neutral conductor of the electricity network is broken, for example, when a tree falls over the power line supplying the property. This can cause the voltage to rise from 230 volts to 400 volts. An increase in voltage can cause a risk of electric shock, damage electrical equipment in the home and cause a risk of fire.
